First time ordering food here this evening. We called in to place a Togo order. My daughter is 3 so dining in wouldn’t be great for us! We had to wait a few mins for our food which was fine. My 3 year old sat down and read the menu. The lady checking us out was very kind. We get home and the food was nice and HOT. Tasted amazing!!! We will be back! Thank you for delicious dinner we got 2 oxtail dinners rice and peas and cabbage.

This place used to be amazing! I had been coming to eat here religiously since 2009. I drove all the way up from Miami to bring my fiancé who’s here from Italy and is a huge Jamaican cusine lover.. we were so exited to eat here. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with such a stank attitude by the lady working. I had my service dog (with valid paperwork) she asked us to sit outside even though service dogs are allowed inside. So we decided to order to-go instead. I started telling her my order and still I received an unpleasant attitude (for no reason, I’m trying to give business to a local place that was completely empty) after I gave her our to go order.. she wrote nothing down and then went to grab paper and a pen to have me repeat the order. Then she argued with me about eating outside and that I should just sit outside with my dog in 97 degree weather instead of just taking my food to go. We were both so excited to eat here.. we’ve been talking about it for days. There are tons of Jamaican spots in Miami we could’ve went to even tons in broward. We told her we drive from Miami just to eat here.. she didn’t seem to care if we stayed or left. Unfortunately, we decided to leave even though I told my fiancé the food will make up for it I promise. He insisted we leave. He said in America you’re known for your great service and why should you have to pay to be treated poorly by someone who seemed like they didn’t even want your business. After reading all the reviews on here it seems like the same woman is the common denominator but instead of owning up to her rude behavior she just invalidates everyone’s same feedback. I used to eat lunch here everyday back in 2012-2014 and the gentleman who I believed was the owner was so pleasant. Never experienced this woman before but she should probably have some self awareness and realize if more than a handful of people are giving the same feedback about her attitude that it can’t be everyone else who is writing the same reviews about her without seeing the other reviews prior. I unfortunately don’t think I’ll be making the long trip to Boca again. I had also recommended this place to a huge group of friends who I told about this experience. Word of mouth and how you treat people are the bread and butter for a small business. I hope she can grow from the feedback rather than keep her customers from returning. **UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO THE BUSINESSES RESPONSE*** We did not leave because of the issue with the service dog. We left because you were straight up rude to us. Even when we decided to take our food to go.. you were rude. It shouldn’t matter what time we come in while you are OPEN. After a rush, during a rush.. rude is rude no matter what time it is. If you are a business serving food to the public during certain stated hours and customers come in during those hours and because you were rude as hell.. decide to take food to go and then you continue to be rude as hell.. that’s on you hun! You keep responding to the reviews about you being rude and blaming everyone else when YOU are the problem. Don’t worry I’ll never come back or recommend your business to anyone ever again. You should really check yourself. I honestly believe you are just rude and lazy and you had one hour left that you were open and instead of making some good extra money you rather lose a huge potential of future business because you are lazy and ignorant. We are vacationing in Boca for a week. I did a quick google search for a lunch spot to grab something after our round of golf! I was super excited to find Rocksteady! The reviews were awesome and the photos of the food looked delicious! My husband is Jamaican and we love trying new Jamaican restaurants everywhere we visit. The menu was extensive and the food was so deliciously authentic! Curry chicken, Jerk Chicken and Ox tails were on point ! The seasoning was spot on the sides where equally spectacular.

So tasty. The oxtail had excellent flavor. We loved the chicken curry. And we loved the sides. Will definitely be back. A must visit if you enjoy flavorful foods. Even my 88 year old mother in law was impressed.
