5/28/26=Today is my second-to-last day in Florida for the summer, and after the office, even though I was not hungry, my soul was saying, “You need a Cuban café con leche.” And when the soul speaks, sometimes you must listen. “Taste and see that the Lord is good.” — Psalm 34:8. I was in West Palm Beach, and there was nothing close by, so I ventured out on a 21-minute Uber ride. My Haitian driver had such good stories that the ride felt much shorter. Honestly, it was like Uber and storytelling ministry in one. I arrived at Tropical Bakery, and my first order of business was the bathroom. It looked like maybe there was no bathroom available, but I asked anyway. And yes, they had one! You have to ask and then walk through the kitchen. I was like, “Wow, this is the coolest thing ever.” One almost never gets to see the inside of a restaurant kitchen unless you are on a cooking show or in trouble. The place only has a few tables, and since I was a solo diner, I figured I would sit at the bar. There were only about four seats, very close to each other. And there I was with my big Louis Vuitton bag that I got secondhand from Bag Borrow or Steal, or something like that. Let me tell you, my Louis Vuitton bag alone needed its own seat, and I am not kidding. I was not dining alone. I was dining with luggage. Even though I was not hungry, I ordered scrambled eggs with tostadas because apparently café con leche comes with a side of “let me eat something anyway.” I thought I would upload a video to my YouTube, write in my journal, and work on my prayer list. But there was no space for all that. Between me, the food, the coffee, and Miss Louis Vuitton taking up half the bar, we were fully booked. This place was buzzing with clients. I watched the beautiful lady, I think she had blue eyes, making coffee after coffee. I felt like I was attending a masterclass in café con leche. By the time I finished eating, she must have made about 100 coffees. It was like a coffee concert, and I had a front-row seat. Then I remembered I am behind on my Google Maps reviews. I still have to write the review for the Italian restaurant we went to last night, but I digress, as usual. As I sat there eating and watching the coffee-making show, I looked up at the wall and saw pictures of the owner and his family . It looked like a beautiful timeline of his life and this café and the owner is still alive and he is 97 y/o what a blessing from Jesus . places like this are not just about food. They carry family, history, hard work, and memories. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” — Colossians 3:23. This place is really, really good. They also have two tables outside, where I sat later to write this review. So now I am sitting here drinking guarapo, fresh sugar cane juice, something I have not had since I was a little kid. One sip and suddenly I am back in childhood, except now I have bills, a carry-on, and a Louis Vuitton bag that needs emotional support and its own chair. I am planning to stop by the boutique next door, Havana, to see what is going on there. But I cannot buy much because I only have a small carry-on. The temptation is real, but so is the luggage limit. Anyhow, I recommend Tropical Bakery wholeheartedly. Come for the café con leche, stay for the coffee-making show, and try the guarapo if you want a little sweet trip down memory lane. You will not be disappointed. “Every good and perfect gift is from above.” — James 1:17. And today, that gift came with tostadas, Cuban coffee, and sugar cane juice.

Tropical Bakery is, without a doubt, my favorite Cuban bakery! Their coffee is consistently the best and always fresh, rich, and perfectly made. The food is absolutely delicious and every visit reminds me why I keep coming back. What really makes this place stand out is the exceptional customer service. A special shoutout to Magdelyn, who always goes above and beyond. She has our order memorized, and that says so much about the genuine care and attention she gives her customers. She always welcomes us with a smile, is incredibly friendly, and makes every visit feel personal. It’s rare to find a place with amazing food, outstanding coffee, and service that makes you feel like family. Tropical Bakery has all three. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Cuban food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Five stars every time!

I’ve been coming here regularly, and the food is consistently good and the place is clean. However, I had an interaction recently that really left a bad impression. While my card was still processing, the cashier physically held onto my food and wouldn’t let go until it cleared, which felt unnecessarily distrustful and uncomfortable. I understand procedures, but hospitality is built on mutual respect, and this crossed that line for me. I hope management takes a closer look at how customers are treated during checkout, because experiences like that make me reconsider coming back.

So last night we all got together to celebrate my dad’s life on his one year anniversary of passing and what I knew he would of wanted was good Cuban food. After calling around I went with my gut and called Tropical Bakery on Kirk Rd. And Forest Hill which has been a staple to West Palm Beach/Palm Springs since I think 89 if I am wrong let me know. But not only was the price super affordable but 😍 the food was INCREDIBLE. Just wanted to say I highly highly recommend. I have been going there since I was a little girl but mostly for breakfast never really for dinner. My entire family was very impressed and we are Cuban. We know lol. That is all.

I just love this place! I just so happened to stumble in after getting tattooed in the plaza. The women were so sweet! I had no idea what to order the first time I was there.She made me this batch, and I was instantly hooked! Forever a customer , every time I get tattooed , I pop in! ❤️🩷👍🏾
