Second time back and dined in. Excellent experience. I was able to cut the brisket with a fork and it was very good! Will return! Ordered brisket and sausage with Mac and slaw.

Had also been following their launch excitedly. I have to agree with the previous reviewer, food really left a lot to be desired. Ordered brisket and pulled pork with a couple of sides. Cole slaw was decent, mac and cheese tasted like plain pasta. Brisket was bland and somehow tough? Food also arrived within a minute of ordering as if it had been sitting (cold as well) Staff is really friendly and accommodating, but I wouldn’t make the trip for their food.

I had been following Tequesta Smokehouse on Facebook for a while and was genuinely excited to finally go with my dad and try their award-winning barbecue. Since they’re only open Thursday through Sunday from 4–8 and there’s definitely a “get there before it sells out” vibe, I made sure we got there right before 4:00 expecting a crowd. There was literally nobody there for food when we arrived. The bar was packed, but otherwise, definitely not the barbecue rush I was expecting. Unfortunately, the food was a little disappointing too. We tried the coleslaw, potato salad, and truffle mac & cheese. The coleslaw basically tasted like raw cabbage without much else going on, and the potato salad literally tasted like nothing. I was actually happy the truffle flavor in the mac & cheese wasn’t overpowering, but it was really watery. I got the ribs, which were VERY peppery, and I definitely wouldn’t describe them as fall-off-the-bone. Look, it wasn’t terrible barbecue. It just wasn’t anywhere near the amazing barbecue I was expecting based on the reputation and everything I’d seen on Facebook. For my taste, Nev’s is way better, so I’ll probably just stick with them.

Tequesta Smokehouse is absolute perfection if you love authentic Texas barbecue. Everything on the tray from the tender brisket and ribs to the sides was fantastic, but the citrus glaze burnt ends are out of this world melt in your mouth perfection with the absolute best flavor. Pairing top-tier smokehouse meats with a great craft beer inside the brewery makes for an awesome experience. Do not skip this place if you are anywhere nearby!
