Awesome Empanadas: From Food Truck to Storefront on Dixie Highway

Awesome Empanadas started in 2022 as a food truck chasing bold flavors and a loyal following across South Florida. That following grew fast enough that in 2024 the business opened its first brick-and-mortar storefront in Lake Worth Beach, while keeping its truck on the road for events and catering across the region.

Handcrafted, Not Frozen

The core promise hasn't changed since the food truck days: every empanada is made fresh daily using handcrafted recipes, with nothing pulled from a freezer. The savory lineup includes Buffalo Chicken, Cheeseburger, Pepperoni, and Hamburger empanadas, each built around bold, familiar flavors rather than anything too precious. On the sweet side, the Guava Cheese empanada — guava paste paired with creamy cheese in a nod to Puerto Rican tradition — has become a fan favorite. The menu extends beyond empanadas too, with yuca fries, maduros (caramelized plantains), mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, and classic fries rounding things out.
